Published in 1937 by Dutch scientist Marcel Minnaert, Light and Colour in the open air is an exposition of physical phenomena that can be observed with no or minimal equipment in the outdoors. It covers topics such as rainbows and halos, reflection, optical phenomena of the eye, the polarization of the sky, and many others that were of great interest to Edwin Land. This copy was apparently used in his research and contains numerous page markers with "Helmoltz" or "Goethe" written in Land's hand.
