In the Shop
Aviary Books is a little shop with a big heart. We take pride in the quality of our books and offer a typical variety of subjects and genres, but we do not carry children's books. There are over 5,000 books on the shelves, and 99% of them are not listed online. We still believe in the joy of good ‘ol fashioned browsing and serendipitous discovery, and are committed to providing a welcoming space to do so.

This website features rare and collectible books with a focus on fine photography, art, and architecture. You will also find an eclectic mix of unique titles in adjacent fields as well as a selection of signed books.

Events
Once a month or so, we wheel the bookcases out of the center of the room to make way for seating and a small stage. The bookshop is a wonderfully intimate space to experiment with new ideas and ways of connecting with an audience. We intentionally seek artists and performers who are pushing the boundaries of their form. Check out the Events page for more information about upcoming and archived events.
