New York: John Wiley & Sons Inc., 1983. 4to (23.5 cm); blue cloth with titles in light blue on cover and spine, Rowland Institute library stamp on ffep, library card and pocket on rfep, additional library markings on spine and title page, 453pp. Spine is square and tight, sharp corners and edges, clean and bright throughout.
This is a textbook that explores (as the title states) the physics and chemistry of color, intended for an advanced undergraduate level. In the preface the author states that it is intended to fill a gap on the science of color since many survey texts in physics and chemistry only give passing attention to color, whereas more advanced texts are highly specialized in only one narrow area of color science.
On the library card in the rear pocket, there is a checkout on 22 May 86 by "MMB (EHL)," "EHL" standing for Edwin H. Land. This book was likely a valuable reference for his research on Retinex theory. Very Good. Item #331
